On Thanksgiving morning, thousands of metro-Detroiters watch street-side as story book heroes and beloved television characters make their way down Woodward Avenue in America's Thanksgiving Parade. Millions more tune in across the country from a cozy spot in their living rooms to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrities. This year Gooby, Toofy and Woozy from My Bedbugs will take their place on this famed holiday route. Coincidentally, the float on which they will make their first appearance, is very appropriately named; it is called “Detroit Dreams”.
The float, which is sponsored by Bank One, definitely embodies the spirit of the show and everyone who works on it. My Bedbugs began in 2001 with just a few sketches and a big dream for small group of friends in metro-Detroit. Not long after that, this group grew into a production company called Greenestuff and everyone dreamed of the day when My Bedbugs would be a part of children's lives across the country. Now just a few short years later, participating in America's Thanksgiving Parade is both an honor and a dream come true for all involved.
This Thanksgiving all of the staff at Greenestuff are very thankful for family, friends, viewers and supporters-but they are especially thankful for dreams.
